Speechless Love: The psychological changes a cat goes through while its owner is hospitalized are touching

Hi, I’m Smith! I think those who say cats are “not loyal” must have never personally raised a cat! I believe those who say cats are “not loyal” must have never personally raised a cat!

A few days ago, I came across a story: a kitten became extremely anxious at home because its owner was hospitalized and didn’t come back for days. I was deeply moved after reading it!

Two years ago, one day, blogger @Ruiqi was passing by a stone bridge on her way home from work when she heard what seemed like the meowing of a kitten coming from under the bridge…

She followed the sound and discovered a small kitten abandoned in a cardboard box, thin and helpless, with one eye covered in pus.

Unable to bear seeing the young kitten suffer, Ruiqi took it to a veterinary hospital. After an examination, the doctor said the kitten had feline herpesvirus, speculating that the previous owner didn’t want to spend money on treatment and abandoned it.

However, Ruiqi didn’t want to give up on the kitten, so she brought it home with medication prescribed by the doctor. Fortunately, the kitten showed resilience and gradually regained its health after receiving careful care for some time.

The kitten became increasingly adorable and lively. Ruiqi realized it was a Siamese cat and thought that it would definitely become a coal miner in the future, so she named it “Coal Ball.”

They accompanied each other, leading a happy life. That’s how two years passed.

Half a month ago, Ruiqi suddenly felt pain in her neck and experienced symptoms such as numbness in her arms, dizziness, and blurred vision. The doctor diagnosed her with cervical stenosis and recommended hospitalization for surgery.

Since she started her hospitalization, Coal Ball became extremely anxious. It would pace around the house or lie by the window, constantly looking outside…

Coal Ball refused to eat, and no matter how much others tried to persuade, it wouldn’t listen. It also couldn’t sleep well and would only close its eyes to rest when it was too tired to keep them open.

Soon, changes began to appear in Coal Ball’s body. Its characteristic “little black charcoal face” gradually faded, becoming whiter and whiter. Its black nose turned pink, and even the color of its pupils became lighter.

The family took Coal Ball to the hospital, where the doctor explained that due to excessive anxiety and stress, it developed acute vitiligo, an irreversible disease!

They were afraid of worrying Ruiqi, so they didn’t tell her until she was discharged. Ruiqi cried in distress. The first thing she did when she returned home was to embrace her long-awaited kitten.

Coal Ball was also overjoyed to see her and kept snuggling up to her, saying, “Where have you been all this time? I missed you so much!”

Who says cats don’t have feelings for their owners? This is clearly a two-way expression of love.

There are many similar stories:
Case 01:
When the owner was receiving intravenous treatment at home, the cat showed great concern and cautiously approached to sniff, then gently placed its paws on the owner’s hand to comfort her!

Case 02:
A girl in Henan province fell ill and stayed at home for a day. Her cat brought her favorite cat food and freeze-dried treats, filled with care in its eyes. “Mommy must be hungry, please eat!” The girl was deeply moved, after all, freeze-dried treats were the cat’s favorite food.

Case 03:
Before her sister went for heart surgery, she bid farewell to the kitten she was raising. Suddenly, the kitten realized something was wrong, so it scratched through the screen window and chased after her. It chased the car for a long distance… Luckily, they lived on the ground floor, and the sister noticed in time to stop the car and avoid hurting the kitten.

I believe the kittens understand deep down, even though they may not express it. They keep their deepest affection hidden in their hearts, sincere and passionate!

Lastly, I hope everyone takes good care of themselves and their cats, so that we can accompany each other for a long, long time.
